LAAAYLAAA
I always neglect this blog. Forgive me blogspot.
What's changed since I posted last?
Oh, I left college! The course was shite, that's all I can say about it really. So I'm living back in Galway again. Not a bad thing really, Dublin isn't as great as it's cracked up to be. New start in September, something more academic, so I'm excited.
& NO I'm not giving up photography. If anything, I think not studying it in college will make me appreciate it more. Got a gig in London, I'm dead excited. Metalfest III, can't wait!
I broke my infamous man ban. Typical Mary, TYPICAL. It was good though, no no, it was unbelievable, while it lasted. I'm glad I did it, even though I let myself down. I was happy, dude had some serious impact on me.
<3
Here's hoping.
I joined twitter. http://twitter.com/missharte
Went to see Presidents of the USA last Friday with Amy...for the third time. We kinda love them! We ended up getting ONE AAA pass, but we just went to Bruxelles to meet the band. The guitarist was told that I wanted to have sex with him. Queue red face. So embarrassing! I didn't, btw. Bruxelles is horrible! It's full of dirty metallers dancing like apes and swinging their filthy hair about. I've nothing against metal, I listen to it like, but WASH please. I thought Fibbers was bad, but at least they keep them isolated there ;) hahaha!
Guitar is making a comeback in my life. I played it years ago and I just stopped, I'm so bad for that! Here it is again though, and I'm excited :)
It's weird seeing people change. I know change is good and all, but it's strange, we're all growing up so fast! :)
Oh i shot The Eyes Of A Traitor a few weeks back! Ive shot a good few bands, but these really stick out. They're amazing and don't get half the recognition they deserve.

I miss so many people! :(

Friday!
Savage, Ye, Thank god it's Friday and all that shit, but it's been like Friday all week for me! I couldn't imagine ever living at home and drawing the dole or anything like that. It's been so boring! Although I must admit, watching the same episode of Frasier three times in one day is real deadly. I can't wait to get back into the swing of college. Bringgg it.
The result of boredom:

I painted my phone with Gosh glitter and Ronseal varnish. Smell of it. Haha
Stallin my ass to Clawraw tonight. That'll be gas. I haven't seen Mickaleen Keyes in forever and I can't wait to see xMELx! ;)
We've a REAL early start tomorrow. I'm heading down to Cork with the Tyfus lads, to take photos and to drink insanely I'd imagine (I know, I'm breaking my drink ban, but hey, what happens in Cork, stays in Cork haha). Driving from Clawraw to Portlaoise at like some ungodly hour of the morning (in the Tyfus mobile), and getting on a bus from Portloaise to Cork at 9.30? ish? Then the gig starts at 1, and that's when the party kicks off. Party in O'Driscolls, WHAAA?
I decided to watch Skins last night. Well, at like 1am. It was actually real good. It was the episode about Thomas. Ep 3? Ep 4? I dunno, but it's a load better than the last series of Skins, that was muck - probably because the lead guy played that kid in About A Boy - things like that really taint your career. So I've to catch up now and watch the first few episodes.
There must be something in the water in Cork, because everyone I know from there is so so nice! It's sick! haha.
I've been officially accepted as the Irish photographer & writer for www.soundshock.net. It's a really well run webzine and I'm stoked to be working with such talented people and such dedicated owners. I did my first gig review for them a couple of weekends ago. I'm excited.

You know those girls who are all over the radio and TV with the "I clearly studied Media in Maynooth" accents? God I hate them.
I wish I didn't believe that things happen for a reason right now.
Love,
Mary xo

iWhat?!
It's not very often that i get the motivation to write here, but I'm gonna start blogging regularly now.
I decided to come home from Dublin this weekend to spend time with the family, this proved to be one deadly idea on my part. I got to spend yesterday with my parents, the day they found out that their first grandchild was born, my brother's and his fiance's first child together. The atmosphere around the house was incredible, even though the child was born in Scotland. Heya baby Cian. I'm delighted to be an aunt, I never really understood the hype about babies, but seeing a picture of this tiny new member of my family has made me really really happy. My sister and her husband are expecting their baby in June, and I'm real excited about that.

How cute is he? :D
I missed the snow this weekend, that sucks a little bit. We only have light snow every now and again, but it doesn't stay on the ground. College was called off because the heating system is shit, but home is the place to be. Gonna get a DVD and chill by the fire tonight, why wasn't Christmas like this?!
I saw Amy yesterday, I've been friends with her since we were kids and I haven't seen her properly since the LC finished last June, this is due to work and college and living in different cities. I'm determined to change this, and to regain the friendship I once had with some of my old schoolmates. We used to have this book that we'd write to each other in, we did this for a few years (3rd and 4th year, was it?) and we've decided to bring this back. It's gonna be fun :)
The friends I've gained from college and from living in Dublin have made such an impact on my life. I really love the college people and I hope that this portfolio competition doesn't destroy what we've built over the past 6 months.
I've started a man-ban for 2009. I sound like a bitter feminist now. I know it probably won't work for the whole year, but I've done well so far. :) As well as men, drink is also out of the question. It's a waste of money and a waste of time.
I've spent most of the day sorting out my beloved laptop. I installed stuff I never had the chance to, cleaned up the hard drive (freeing more than 1GB by deleting languages alone!), changed loads and now things are running beautifully. If you're wondering why I'm being such a geek it's because I use my laptop to run a load of Adobe software, and well, you know how that goes.
I decided to go to the cinema last Thursday along with Lisa and Brew. We wanted to see Seven Pounds. I think it was a real powerful movie. I expected to cry, but I held it in for once. I was really impressed that the trailers for this movie didn't let the secret slip. God bless mystery. I'm gonna hit the cinema more, I used to go a hell of a lot last year, and I really miss the buzz.

Heartless
"Stay silent at least for now, and let me move on.
Cause I’m so done playing these games with my heart
I’ve been around the world and back for you,
and now its time to choose."
This song is great. The lyrics make me sick in the pit of my stomach, but that's life.
